One of the places I have thought about visiting for many years is Madame Tussauds. The problem is I am freaked out by the idea of fake people. I get a little uncomfortable around mannequins even. I would blame it on the movie House of Wax, but I already thought those people were real people before I watched that. Yes, I'm a wimp. Well, I decided to get over it when we visited Hollywood and passed Madame Tussauds several times and it was included in our CityPASS. At first I was a bit terrified of the celebrity figures, and I definitely don't think I would like hanging out with them on my own, but I did finally get into it.
Maybe Simon is just too scary? I laughed at my own scarediness. |
I finally warmed up to James Dean. He seemed like a cool guy. |
Eric was totally into it. Here he is making a deal he can't refuse. |
I don't know if I walked away being more comfortable with wax people, but I definitely didn't freak out. Of course, I didn't realize that the one in Hollywood is rumored to be haunted. If I had, I wouldn't have gone, so maybe it's good that I just decided to go for it at the last minute. I didn't die though and in the end I had fun, so I'm glad that I did something that scared me. Have you ever been to a wax museum? If you have, what did you think?
There's so much that goes into putting the figures together. I think it might be weird to be able to stand next to your own likeness. This infographic tells you more about the process and where it all started - Yes! There is a Madame Tussaud!
Pretty cool, right?
